Sounds pretty good price.
Is this for RX350 or RX450h?

Thanks to this forum for a great lead.

Seanlin,

It's a 2010 RX 350.

Sorry, should have been more specific.

I got a 2014 RX 350 about 3 weeks ago. I also bought the Maintenance program, which covers all scheduled maintenance and service for 50K miles. Unscheduled maintenance is covered under warranty. The cost was $1500, but I received a 10% AARP Discount, bringing it to $1350. The Toyota dealer is a couple of miles closer and probably a bit cheaper but I always get a loaner anytime I take my car into Lexus (I traded in my 2007 on this one). That makes it well worth it for me. I am not going to quibble over a few bucks. I consider it like driving a Mercedes or BMW, you can expect to pay more for service. Those who have gone to a Lexus Service Dept and a Toyota Service Dept will tell you that you can't compare the two. The Lexus is far better, in terms of personalized service, appointments, luxurious waiting areas, etc.

Question What Service recommended before the Extended Warranty Expires?

I bought the 7 year/100k miles Platinum Warranty from Troy at Greenfield Toyota (per earlier posts) back in 2007 for my new 2008 RX 350 -- they warranty expires in 2014. Have had my local Lexus dealership change the oil and filters regularly, but no other significant service because they are EXPENSIVE (they want $800+ for a "30k service.")
My RX has about 45k on it, and hasn't given any trouble. What service should I schedule / what should I do BEFORE the extended warranty expires? Thanks for any thoughts / suggestions / remedial advice.

^^^that's a good question. I'm about to purchase extended warranty on my used 2011 rx450h with 61k miles and read through this whole thread. I'm using these numbers to compare what my buddy can get me at lexus.

If you have an extended warranty (versus a scheduled maintenance plan), unless something breaks, then you can't get something fixed as 'preventative' before the plan expires.

I have the opportunity to purchase an platinum extended warranty plan from the dealership on my 2010 AWD RX350 even though we didn't buy it there. It also has 67k on it. But here's the catch. This RX was serviced there from date of purchase to my recently having bought it at a Mercedes dealer to the mile so perhaps this is why they are making the exception. (I'm assuming the owner traded it in there)
The price quoted is on the high side at 5/60k for $3700. Whee the IS350C when I bought it they quoted me $3400. I understand these have a ton of electronics in them and that the only reason I'd consider it. If it had been $2800 I'd be sold. Grr. Called all the usual people in the course of my search here on CL and every one if them said they can't sell a warranty to me as it's #1 out of state and #2 past the 50k point. Looks like the warranty party is over & Lexus has come down on out of state dealers selling warranties. Only the dealer can sell you that warranty as they have handled that car from the beginning and being at 67k.
Decisions, decisions.

Any major problems with this gen SUV?
