Intuitive Park Assist
Tow Prep Package

I really wanted to get the 19's but the dealer really wasn't very motivated to do any kind of swapping, although I couldn't really complain as I worked them down on price pretty good I think.
Now its just a matter of waiting until they find one!

They located one finally!! They could only find one that had remote start and the door edge guards which I could have cared less about.... So they ate the cost of that as well.. Here is a pic of the beauty! Will post more once we get a decent day to take picks.

First Lexus. Moving up from a loaded 96 RAV4 that's really a nice vehicle but very noisy at highway speeds.
Picking it up tomorrow after dealer installs door molding and tints windows. Can't hardly wait. Will post some pics later. Wife will be primary driver but we plan to use the Lexus for vacations and road trips so I will hopefully get to drive it sometimes.

Another new RX 350 owner - First Lexus too.
Signed the deal today for my wife's new ride, a '12 RX 350. Lots of research and test drives, RX, MDX, XC60, XC90, X5 but my wife preferred the RX. The reviewers seem to think everyone is looking for an "exciting driver" to "throw around the canyon roads." That's great for some but not what many are after, namely a quiet, comfortable luxury ride in a well designed, versatile vehicle that has value and high reliability ratings. That last one is something reviewers don't seem to put much stock in, I guess they don't have to pay the BMW or Benz dealers $$$ service bills. My wife found those great drivers cars "too firm" or "stiff" for her taste. In fact she told me near the end of being dragged to dealerships "if you like that Volvo's handling so much you drive it, I want my LEXUS!" Guys this is where you insert a meek "yes dear" and call the Lexus dealer back if you know what's good for you.
I started out thinking 2009 pre-owned @ $32-33K but one back to back in a '09 & '10 and I could tell the updated RX was a superior vehicle in so many ways. Up went the budget. Then I found the low miles '10 & '11's with nav/premium/comfort are very pricey compared to a good deal on a new one. That and the .9% financing (I've been told unusually low for RX incentive financing) drove us to the '12.
The deal was $500 over the "invoice" price, $45930 on a $49789 MSRP car, a not so terrible almost -8%. In the entire Philly metro area there are only four dealers, five if you count Wilmington, DE so they don't seem inclined to deal much on the new and even less on the high priced CPO. Plus December to Remember had the cars selling, my sales person said they sold 14 yesterday (12/26). I looked at one of the lowest priced 2011's around with less equipment (no RS or Park Assist) and 12k miles. Firm at $42k, just under $4k from the better equipped new one and even less when the finance cost and $650 to add on RS is factored in. Even the nicer lower miles (12-22k) '10's weren't low enough $ to make me go used.
My wife really liked the new parking assist option a lot and internet shopping got me a reasonable matched deal from one of the the few close locals. Even those guys are 18 miles away so the pickup/loaner perk was factored into our decision. The CPO cars with low miles still have their flaws and tires, brakes etc are that much closer to a service bill so we busted the budget and take delivery on Friday 12/30, Happy New Year indeed! .
Our vehicle:
2012 RX 350 AWD Tungsten Pearl/Black
Comfort Pkg/12 Speaker Audio
Premium Pkg

Wood Trim Wheel/Shift ****
Remote Start
Preferred Accessories Pkg
No cross bars unlike every other RX I saw which was fine with me. I'll never strap anything to the roof, it can't help the wind noise and they list for $259. I was after the tow prep just to get the cheap oil & trans coolers w/ HD radiator. With a new 3500HD Duramax SRW for my fifth wheel and a Tahoe the RX is for cruising in style so I'm not going to tow but it never hurts engine durability to add those items for a bargain $200+. The dealer had one without and one with the tow pkg but of course also with the 19" wheels. I had read some comments about rougher ride on the the 19" and it's is true. Before I chose between the two today I took both cars out back to back on the same route. Even the saleswoman was surprised at how much better the ride was on the 18's. As I suspected, manhole covers and other slight potholes and road defects were clearly harsher with the lower profile 19's. My wife could care less about oil coolers so soft ride it was. I figure this RX and frequent "yes dear" supplication and I'm set for a few years.

cngrats on the new car. we got our 2012 Hybrid 450X with the exact same features except w/ 19" tires with an MSRP kn $54,950... the hybrid was only $5k more? not as much as i thought.. i got them t sell it for 51,500, or 6% under msrp... when we were Looking at the Toyota Hilander Hybrid, you couldnt find one anywhere, and even then you had to pay msrp... im shocked the RX hybrid is as flexible

No, I don't play soccer!
Congrats brs50. I agree, nice color choice I'm glad you, or should I say your wife, went with the RX. I'm sure it won't be your last. Be sure to post some pictures when you get it.

Congrats on the new RX. Which dealer did you wind up getting it from? Up here in the Lehigh Valley we're fairly limited but luckily I was a repeat customer for our local guys. I went as far as the Doylestown one but didn't have such a great experience there.
