Default Center Console Hinge retainer

Ok Lexus, I have had enough of the center console hinge. I can't open it enough to get my hand in without becoming a contortionist. FIX MY HINGE!!! You can't even see in it while driving, the tray hides the front and the lid hides the back.

I feel better now.

You are not alone. It is hideous how they could have designed a console that would only open about 45 degree is beyond me. I will have to either stop the vehicle or I will have to have my passenger reach inside to grab one of the three tangled cable or notepad that is inside. There were few times already when I just wanted to rip the cover open.

I feel better now!

It sounds like you're just sliding the console cover? Then I agree you would have to be a contortionist. But if you actually pivot the cover open, there is plenty of space to put your hand in. I don't see what is the issue.

If you don't like the small or large trays, you can always remove them.

Also, not to sound like a nanny here, but you really shouldn't see inside the console while driving. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD.

The real problems to me are to plug the USB/ipod/power/radar into the outlets underneath. Very very inconvenient design!!!

I do find that an issue as well, at least a wider angle would be helpful. especially when those USB/power outlets are deep down there on the front side in the dark, it's hard to look down there when your console is in the way.
is there any lighting down there? I don't recall there was when I sat in a demo, or perhaps they drained the battery.

cheers
