I'm not sure why so many people have such dramatic negative responses to the new version. To me, it seems much like the major overhaul of the original RX300 which became the RX330 then 350. Everything is new, but the general shape and utiltiy remain similar. This to me is just a logical update of the basic RX theme. If you like the 2009, how can you "hate" the 2010? They are not that different.

The 6 speed auto should slightly improve the performance and mileage of the RX350. The big powertrain change seems to be in the hybrid which becomes the RX450h. This seems logical to me since the RX350 got very close to the RX400h performance so there needed to be a change to justify the price difference of the hybrid.

As for me, I plan to trade back into the RX450h in December 2009 when my current lease expires.

Default New RX

Looks like they went back in time on the front speaker placement. They brought back the little RX300 window and moved the speakers to the the door.

i'll admit, the picture sama just posted with the LHD interior looks a little better... I like the fact that they kept the optitron gauges and wood steering wheel etc...

And i'm not really worried about the nav not being touch-screen; at least you'll now be able to just talk to it.

my opinions are getting a little better of the interior

I notice in those pics all the rear windows are NOT tinted like the current RX.

I hope this is a prototype and the real RX doesn't come like this. I dunno but having all the windows clear and untinted makes the car look "naked" to me.

LA Autoshow website doesn't list the Lexus RX under World or NA debut...oh no!

Edmunds has only a lexus under tablecloth- no model listed...

I'm really disappointed. I absolutely loved the LF-Xh concept. That was the hottest SUV ever. They watered it down so much it looks just like another bland boring soccer mom ride. Yuk.

I hate Lexus for doing that. They have hot concepts, like the LF-C coupe with the 2 piece roof, now this. but none of that cool design makes it into production form.

Look at the germans. Their new models get all the cools elements of the concepts and they have some hot looking cars now.

It does. A friend of mine calls untinted autos aquariums.

It was cool just having to tint 2 windows on my old RX330. Saved some bucks.

At least they don't use that shiny mirror-looking tint anymore! Ugh.

Lexus to Debut 2010 Lexus RX at the Los Angeles Auto Show
Last update: 4:23 p.m. EST Nov. 11, 2008

TORRANCE, Nov 11, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Lexus will stage the world premiere of the all-new 2010 RX 450h hybrid and RX 350 luxury utility vehicles at a press conference at the upcoming 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19. The next generation RX models will raise the bar above the current best-selling products by offering outstanding luxury, comfort, technology, safety and efficiency.

Recently revealed at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the 2010 IS convertible will make its North American debut at the show. The IS 250C and IS 350C convertibles feature a lightweight aluminum three-panel roof that opens in just seconds. They feature the same powertrains as the IS sedans: the IS 250C receives a 2.5-liter, 204-hp V6 mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission; and the IS 350C contains a 3.5-liter, 306-hp V6 with a six-speed automatic.

Also making their first appearance are the 2009 Lexus LS 460 and LS 460 L all-wheel drive (AWD) luxury sedans. Available in both standard and long wheelbase, they utilize a highly compact center TORSEN(R) Limited-Slip Differential (LSD) that optimally distributes drive torque between the front and rear wheels, thus helping to ensure excellent traction performance and driving stability.

The RX press conference will be held on Wednesday, November 19, at 1:20 p.m. PST in the Lexus display area at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

I think the new pictures of the interior looks better because it is taken from the driver side. The old picture were taken from the passenger and the back seat view where that new ugly and chessey center console really shows.
