Greetings,
Just bought a 2015 RX350 base (after sad goodbye to my '08 after 220K miles ^sniff). Would appreciate if you could ID the part highlighted in the photo - passenger side of engine. The cover/bushing/rubbery washer type gasket thingie (heads up - not a tech!) on the engine side is not flush. Curious if that's a concern?
Thanks in advance. rubbery cover/washer loose. issue?

Thanks for the response.
The '08 remains a mystery. Couple months back on cold start had misfire/serious shake. Turned it off and back on again (I'm in computers - doesn't that fix everything?! . Started/ran fine. Next day - no shake, but CEL. OBD showed evap code so replaced gas cap. Fine for month until - this time 1/2 hour into highway drive - started shaking again. Pulled over, turned off. Tightened new gas cap (was fine). Started up ok. Again no OBD codes. Had local guy (new to me - tried because he was closest with full diags suite and good rep) review. Said he was able to capture live misfire on 2&4 'under really heavy load' - though still no stored OBD codes. Suggested plugs (hadn't been done in ~100K miles so I agreed/maybe back 3 ignition coils while you're in there?. Once he got in, called up with all sorts of stuff which mostly made sense (gasket, plugs, coils, maybe injectors...) with estimate to $5K. Was ready for tires (+$1K); hood had some aesthetics issues (another $1K...). Just took it as a sign it was time. 17 years, 220K miles. Nicest and prettiest (brandywine - new one's nebula/grey) car I've ever owned. Still don't know if 'we buy any car' is gonna make some nice $; but given the mystery, couldn't in good conscience offer it privately. Kept telling them I took a Camry to 400K miles with same care!
Still acclimating to the '15. First long ride coming this weekend. Is base model so already missing things/short term buyer's remorse.. (no heated seats!?! wtf!?). Some silly things on order (window visors, wide angle mirror stickons, phone holder...) hoping to restore some of the familiarity/comfort to which I'd become accustomed. Stellar (mostly Lexus dealer) maintenance history but sporadic tremor. Others swear they don't feel it (guess my butt's sensitive from 17 year spoilage). Suspect tire flat spot (been sitting for 6 months) but comes and goes...
Darn, sorry to hear! 5k seems a lot for that kind of work - but it sounds like you definitely got your money's worth out of her! Kinda surprised the 15 has no heated seats! I've seen 10-12 without them but never a 13-15. Does it have a sunroof or fog lights? My 2008's a base but it has heated seats, but that may because it is a Canadian car vs. US spec. Although, I did see a 2007 at the junkyard once that didn't have them, memory seats or a sunroof. I would love to have a slicktop RX, as the heated seats can be added later as I found on my friend's RAV4 after some simple wiring.
'08 certainly served me well. '15 does have sunroof and fog lights.Lack of heated seats surprised me too - adding those probably #2 or 3 on the ToDo list (after basic everything maintenance-wise and maybe external detail to address some minor scratches/cosmetics). Already growing on me.
