They test paper filters in another one of their videos, you can watch that as a reference. But the AEM didn't catch more dust, nor flow more air, IIRC
Well it seem like if you want slightly better engine performance while still ensuring your engine gets clean air then the pick the AEM DryFlow filter.

The rest of the air filters with better flow rates and horsepower numbers seem to allow a lot of dirt inside the engine compared to the AEM filter. However, I would just buy an Purolator One air filter over the AEM filter if clean air was the main goal over horsepower gains.

AEM filters aren't common here so ordered one and still about 10 days out.

No additional air intake noise from this car with AEM filter, freeway passing acceleration and high rpm hill climbing is good with some improvement over oem filter, freeway economy shows 26 mpg. Filter is well built, mating edge sits flat and looks to seal well in air box, currently running a 40 mesh poly screen over intake port to keep out leaves and bugs but will up that to finer mesh. Will send in an oil sample later to check silica content.

Here's another washable dry (no oil) performance engine air filter available through LexusBoutique in Japan from TOM's (Tachi Oiwa Motor Sport) factory authorized tuning company for Lexus and Toyota. Tom's air filter for RX is available from various US tuner supply shops.

Did you not notice that there was no test on an original stock filter? They did not do a comparison, which makes the test pointless. Furthermore...would it not be almost automatic to want to compare the AEM to a stock filter? Failure to do so, in my opinion, tells me that they knew a stock filter would at least initially do just as well as the AEM.

Unless you are driving in heavy dust, or other severe conditions, there is ZERO need for a "better" filter. Then, add in the $60+ price for the AEM, ??????
