Default Mirror Angle on Reverse Resetting

Hello,
I'm having an issue with my 2013 RX350 side mirror keeping the set angle.

The mirrors are currently sitting at 90 degrees. When I put it in reverse, the mirror angles down by 10 degrees (now 80 degrees). I adjust my mirror to 45 degrees then save it to memory. Then when I put it back in park, it goes back by 90 degrees. When I put it reverse it should go to the memorized 45 degrees. However, it only goes to 80 degrees. What am I doing wrong?

Whatever you adjust and save the side mirrors to when in Reverse gear is only for when the car is in reverse gear. Whatever you adjust and save the side mirrors to when in Drive or Park is for all except when the car is in reverse gear.

Thank you for replying. I understand. But the issue is when I Put the car in reverse, adjust the mirror angle, push memory save buttons. Then shift to D or P...it correctly goes back to regular driving position. But when you shift to R, it should go to the angle you I set to memory. But instead it only tilts a shallow angle instead of the steep angle I had set.

Ok so another person said to put in reverse, adjust it then put it in park then save it. I tried that but it wasn't successful. It still only tilts a little.

Any recommendations?

Is your car going back to the proper preset? I think you can change it where it loads "Driver 1", "Driver 2", or "Driver 3" as the default. I wonder if your car is going back to a different driver so it's not loading the correct mirror position.

Thanks for the suggestion
I'm the only driver, so I programmed all three to myself.

I'll try again. But if anyone has any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it

See the little toggle switch on the driver's side armrest marked 'R' and 'L' and with arrows for Up/Down?

After making your 'Reverse' mirror positions (both left and right mirrors) while in Reverse gear, take it out of Reverse gear and put it in either Drive or Park gear. to make your forward mirror positions (both left and right mirrors). That should be all that is needed to program it -but on some models If you put that 'R' & 'L' switch in the middle (not 'L' and not 'R') but in the center position, it should disable the reverse mirror position function when in Reverse... See if that happens.

If the above doesn't take care of your problem then maybe someone has physically adjusted the mirror itself such that the mirrors' up/down and left/right is near the end of travel for the motor. You might want to check to see if the mirror (both mirrors) need to be physically centered in the mirror housing up/down and left/right. You should be able to apply some gentle force pressure with fingertips to move the mirror in proper position.

From the Manual:
When either “L” or “R” of the mirror select switch is selected, the outside rear
view mirrors will automatically angle downwards when the vehicle is reversing in
order to give a better view of the ground. To disable this function, select neither
“L” nor “R”.

With the shift lever in R, adjust the mirror angle at a desired position. The
adjusted angle will be memorized and the mirror will automatically tilt to the
memorized angle whenever the shift lever is shifted to R from next time.

The memorized downward tilt position of the mirror is linked to the 'normal' position
(angle adjusted with the shift lever). Therefore, if the normal position
is changed after adjustment, the tilt position will also change.

Note: When the normal position is changed, readjust the angle in reversing.

I just checked mine and I have the exact same issue as the original poster. When I attempt reverse after settings have been made the mirror only tilts a few degrees and not to the desired position.
