Default LED Headlight Conversion...

Team, curious if anyone has done the LED headlight (bulb) conversion or upgrade..? I tried searching and didn't find anything... I did these to my 2011 Armada and it was night and day... I'm unsure of the BASE models bulbs and if its even worth considering ... your feedback is always appreciated.. Thanks in advance.

If you have HID bulbs, keep them as they are better than LED. Just get new bulbs as the old ones get dimmer over time. They are the D4S bulbs.
If you have halogen, they are H11 and the first thing you need to do is figure out which bulbs you have.

See this older thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...eadlights.html

Or go to the Lexus Drivers Site, join and enter your VIN to see the build sheet that shows the options. It can be a base model (all of them are base models unless you get an F Sport) and have either headlight option.

If you have H11 you are better of doing the H9 bulb conversion. You can Google H11 to H9 conversion. Many forums discuss it.
Or hunt around and experiment with some H11 replacement LED bulbs and hope you see better. I tried them on my HS250h and did not like the results and went back to H9 as I could see better. The light pattern was terrible with the LED bulbs.

Now you need to look at the rear of the headlight housing to see if it is an HID or not. There are youtube videos that show how to replace the HID bulbs. Study them and see if yours look the same.

It is not that difficult once you have done it a few times. If your vehicle is over 7 years old it is best to replace both bulbs as they do slowly get dimmer over time. If you do a lot of night driving or have trouble seeing at night it is a good idea to replace both after that amount of time even if they both work. There are some D4S bulbs available that claim to be brighter and with farther vision than the OEM bulbs.
