Default Upsizing Tire on OEM 18" Wheel

Hello, I've read through many posts about upsizing to a different tire size on the OEM 18" stock rims, however most of the posts I've read are from many years ago and not many photos of how they look. My current tires (oem stock size) 235/55/18 look too small for the RX leaving it with large wheel well gaps. Older post indicated the 255/55/18 will fit but it was unclear if spacers were required and if rubbing occured. I've also read that 255/50/18 is a better choice.

I'd like a larger tire that fills the wheel well gap and provides better stance without the need for spacers and would like to confirm the 255/55/18 will provide this? I am looking Michelin Latitude tires in this size and Discount Tire site indicates they will fit.

Thank You,

Thanks! Right now I'm looking at the Firestone Destination LE3 and the 235/60r18 and 245/60r18 are the same price. Besides the odometer being slightly off, is there a reason I wouldn't want the 245/60r18?

PS: 235/60R18 is the max diameter you can install rear (little finger between the tire and strut/spring base)

Thanks again, that's a pretty convincing argument.

Thank You,
255-55x18 tires w/ a 8.5''-9.5'' width wheel.....8.5's w/ a 20mm offset or a 9.5'' width w/ a zero offset....You'll find a lot of choices w/ 255's....Wheels/tires= Discount tire........
