Default Got brakes

Hello everyone!
I have a 2005 rx330 2wd. I was going to work this morning travelling downhill and my vehicle started slowing down on its own. I had to stop at a red light. After the light turns green, i proceed to go, but the vehicle is slowing down more and more. I get across the intersection and pull over to the side and stop. The car will not move (forward/backward). So, i turn off the car and wait a few minutes. Then, i start the car back up and try to move forwards or backwards and it won't move. Then, i turn off the car again and after a couple of minutes, (while the car is off) the whole car moves in such a way that it feels like the entire brake system just released itself. So, i started the car back up and the car moves forward/backward as though nothing had ever happened. Has anyone ever seen this or know what the problem is?

Not a common or standard kind of problem. I'll throw out a guess that the ABS controller went nuts and was applying the brakes. Pure guess, though.

If this happens again, see if the brakes are exceptionally hot, which would mean some kind of brake system problem.

Thank you for your reply. This did happen once before, but a family member was driving (without me) and it finally released as well. Unable to check brake temp at that point and I did not get under the car this time, as to not mess up my clothes. I will carry coveralls with me so I can get underneath and check in the future. As a matter of fact, I have a laser thermometer that I could use to test temps at each wheel. This will tell me which one is locking up or if all brakes are locking up.
I have never seen or heard of this, but it's bound to happen again. No error code is popping up, so it's going to be a matter of troubleshooting the old-fashioned way!
