Default E-brake/parking brake clunk

Hi all,

My RX400h (2007) makes a clunk noise from the rear right wheel when I release the parking brake and move forward or reverse for a few feet. The clunk doesn't happen when I release the parking brake, only when I move by a few feet.

It sounds like something in the E-brake suddenly release after the car moves a few feet. I am quite sure it is something to do with the parking brake. If I don't engage it before, then the noise is not there.

I remember this happened to my old RX300 2004 as well, but never got it resolved when I sold it.

Anyone has similar experience? Something need adjusting in the parking brake area I reckon.

Thanks.

If you use the parking brake often, then I'd be looking at the parking brake shoes, drums inside the rotors as well as the linkage & cables.
