Default Head gasket

Turns out i need a head gasket in my 2007 rx350. I know it's alot of work and very expensive to have done. My question is has anyone done this repair with the motor in the vehicle. Been watching lots of vids and it looks like it can be done, lots of work and time.

IMO, it is quicker to drop the subframe than it is to just remove the engine wiring harness while in the car, let alone all the other stuff. Plus, if you really mean "head" gasket and not valve cover gasket, the timing cover has to come off to get the cams off, and that is just not going to happen with engine in the car.

Loosing antifreeze with no leaks outside. Did the combustion leak color test and it turned color pretty quick. Reg temp gauge started moving up and down. Use the app torque and it has a digital guage. Temps fluctuate between 175 and 220 degrees. Just bought this a few months back. Runs great except

I agree with the above on dropping the whole thing out via subframe. I didn't touch the head gaskets but accessing the rear bank for just spark plugs is the biggest PITA, I cannot imagine changing a head gasket and being able to torque to spec.

A fluctuating engine temperature is normal, but your range seems a bit excessive. Most cars fluctuate between about 185º and 205º F.
