Power Back Door Doesn’t Close Automatically
I’ve read all I can find about issues with the power back door not opening or closing, but haven’t seen anyone with exactly the problem I’m experiencing with my 2007 Rx400h.
It opens automatically with both the FOB and the button to the left of the steering wheel, but it doesn’t close automatically. The button on the bottom edge of the door doesn’t work either. I do not hear the two beeps, but I hear something, faintly, like it’s trying to engage, but it doesn’t go anywhere.
I’ve tried pressing the button in the glove box a few times, thinking it might somehow reset it, but no luck. Since it opens fine, I don’t think it could be the fuse.
It closes easily, manually, and this is not a big enough issue for me to take it to the mechanic, but it’s truly the only thing wrong with my fourteen year old car, and if it’s as simple as a setting I can change, it would be pretty awesome to get all the whistles and bells back in order.
Thanks for any ideas you might have!
