well it’s definitely not my shop that’s the issue it’s the stealer that I went to yesterday that’s the issue. They were claiming these things were bad/wrong when in fact they aren’t as of yet and hopefully not for a long time to come. When I went to my shop down the street from where I live which is the shop I’m referring to the manager went out there and he and one of his techs spent some time going through it Almost top to bottom inspecting those areas and found next to nothing other than what I mentioned already

They repairs cost is to have you walk across the hallway to check out a newer model. So instead of a $5K fix, you make a $30k+ purchase.

Stealership wins

take it to a reliable “pops store” for another estimate.

+1. When Lexus dealer told me that I need to replace the sunroof completely ($3k+) the next sentence was "Would you like to trade-in your car?"

btw, Jumping to a newer vehicle, doesn't make the problem(s) go away....... One look at the cost of a gen3 & the typical monthly strokes for 36/48 months & of course their own problems.....Knowing you have a shop you prefer & use, what was the point on of going to a dealer for? I could see you taking your vehicle to get checked out by a indy, but the dealer...... I looked at a few gen3's before getting a gen2. My thought was a gen2 would do everything we need vs a gen3...I'd just as soon have a GCsrt8......

Could always throw in some dye in the oil & drive it for a few days & have a look at it w/ a inferred light or glasses....

Having owned older Harley Davidson motorcyles I know all about oil leaks so I don't get too worried about it unless it gets bad.

This is why if my enginge gets very dirty I buy ablut 4-5 cans of Brake Cleaner at $3 a can and hose the engine and suspension, etc down with that.
With a clean engine it is much easier to find actual source of leak and more importantly for me I can monitor just how bad the leak really is.

Any shop can douce the oily areas with brake clean while it's up on the rack in just minutes.
PS- Brake Clean might be flammable I don't know and was never tempted to find out so I always do it on a cold engine but t cuts the oil & grease like magic.
*Top of my engine gets done with Gunk engine clean.

+1. It's not a leak if parking slot is clean and dry in the morning )))

like i said; all seems to be good and clear except for probably the sweating return power steering hose which my indy shop told me not to worry about as they all do that eventually.

Return hose......That'd be a lot easier to swap out & cheaper as well......
