I have a 2004 RX330. I recently had some issues with the sunroof. I used the tilt function to open it and then it made a loud pop sound at the top of its travel. So then I lowered the sunroof and slid it back. When I went to close it again it wouldn't move and the motor was making a loud clicking/popping sound. I checked the tracks and removed the motor to inspect the cables. Everything looked good. I manually slid the sunroof closed. I put the motor back in and then opened the sunroof which went fine. Then when I tried to close it, it moved about 4 inches and then the motor started to make the clicking noise again. I understand how the sunroof operates as far as sliding but do not understand how the tilt function works. I'm not sure if something broke and then it is jamming the track up. Not sure where to go from here other than dropping the headliner. I just thought it was odd that after trying to troubleshoot the issue it will sometimes move freely as it should.
