Default 30 Pin Ipod Connector Conversion

I want to convert the installed 30-Pin IPod Connector in my 2008 Lexus RX-350 to a 3.5mm Stereo Mini Jack Cable. Something simple that I do not have to rip into the dash but plug into my glove compartment. I am okay with losoing the IPO capability. Am also okay not having charging or remote selection capability from the dash. Just want to be able to play my MP3 through the existing 30 pin connector. Most connectors on line state theirs will not work on Lexus automobiles. HELP!

Your RX should not have a 30 pin iPod adapter. If it does that was installed aftermarket. Are you the original owner?

If you follow that cable back to wherever it goes, I can practically guarantee it splits out into RCAs and plugs into an aftermarket box somewhere, probably something like a VaisTech SLi or SL2i (I had their SL2x for XM radio in our 2007 RX). Replace that with an RCA to 3.5mm Y-cable and you're done.

Also, moving to the appropriate forum.
