radio rx330 replacement

Default radio rx330 replacement

2004 lexus rx 330 . wanted to replace the radio/6CD changer with another one obtained from another lexus from junk yard. Same type.
Do I need to reset any codes in computer to recognize it?
everything works but it has no sound.
replaced both radio/cd and amplifier. tried from two different cars. Same result. no sound.
Any re-teach that I need to do? Do I need a dealer to match it up with my car?

No, they can be swapped without any programming. I just did this last weekend to my daughter's 04 RX. It is an easy job. Less than 30 minutes.

I did it too with a unit that I bought off of Ebay. I did not have any issues swapping out the old CD changer/radio. Didn't have to reset the codes or anything, just removed the old unit and swapped in the new refurbished unit.

That means that I have some other problem that keep my radio on mute. It used to turn on occasionally after a bump or when I was disconnecting/ reconnecting the battery. Any new ideas how to check?
