On my 09 rx there is a contant grinding, switch like noise in dashboard.

 

I’m not too sure about all that.
But what I would like to know is, is it just Me or are there also others who get a constant tick/rattle when going over uneven or rough roads? Seems like somewhere in the dash and it’s sort of annoying actually. I tried to get used to it and turn up my music but can still hear the darn noises! Has anyone else experienced this and know what it is or what they did to overcome it? Please help, thinking of selling cause of this reason. Thanks in advance ��

 

Give me the long short story on when, where and what you are doing when you hear that noise.

RX are rattle boxes. When i was working at the dealer. I became the interior guy for these complaints. lexus has a anti rattle kit (lots of foam tape) and revolves around pulling the entire dash out and putting various foam tape on parts of the dash. I was able to get it down to 4 hours out, taped and back in.

 

 

I own a 2018 Es. Today as I made a turn I heard a rolling noise that sounded like it was coming from the dashboard. Of course when I turned the other way it sounded like it was rolling back. Anyone else experiencing something similiar? Suggestions? Sorry new to these forums and I just realized this is a second gen thread.

I don't know if you have the same problem I did or not, but i was hearing a flapping or rattle noise which sounded like it was in the vents, then when i would lean back towards the back seat it sounded like it was under my seat or behind it. It occurred mostly when my car got up to about 30 mph. I finally went to my wonderful repair shop and he said I can fix that in 30 seconds. All I know is that he went under my car somewhere between the console and the driver's seat and cut a piece of rubber off which he says becomes loose on the RX350 cars after about 10 years. Problem solved. Apparently this piece of protection rubber is not necesssary for functionality.
