I have a 2004 RX330 that had 13k miles on it when I bought it in 2005. It now has 168k and is still going strong. It's been the most reliable car I've ever owned!

My Dad's 2004 RX330 had 413k. His commute is over 100 miles per day (lives in the country). He traded it in though because the catalytic converter needed replacement. It was in pretty rough shape cosmetically, but seemed fine mechanically. Also smelled like butterscotch and farts from hauling trash. I have my own 2004 RX330 with approx 120k. Hoping mine lasts as long as his.

OK I guess I need to clarify that. I get regular oil changes. I'm also on my 3rd radiator. Have changed the timing belt, water pump and spark plugs.. But original engine and tranny.

That would be amazing if it was on its original engine and transmission.

This just proves that the 2nd Gen RX was well designed and had all the major mechanical issues ironed out.

Yep, I'm pretty sure it was the original engine and transmission. I asked him before he traded and he said "nothing major" was done. I'm guessing he needed at least one radiator replacement and probably had the timing belt assembly replaced as per maintenance recommendations (our shop had mine done on schedule).

I only have 85,000 on my 2004 RX330. And no, it hasn't turned over. But my dashboard is cracked and when we took it in during the recall, it had a small crack. and the dealer refused to fix it. Now it is cracked all the way across. What can I do, rather than pay out of pocket?

bought my 2004 RX 330 new, has 145K miles, Was thinking about getting a pickup truck as we use this to haul DIY projects items but just cant part with my RX330. We added a Uhaul hitch and now just rent a small trailer when we need something bigger than the RX330. SIgned up for a replacement dashboard as soon as LEXUS issued their "warranty enhancement". gave up re- calling dealer after about 2 years as they told me it would take 5-6 years to get one. i stopped going to this dealer after that. Called dealer last week and vm said email them as it would take 2-3 weeks to reply to my vm so sent email. Turns out they had "my dashboard" but they figured i had sold the car so never notified me. It is being replaced today. And thank goodness another Lexus Dealer opened up in my area which has A#1 service dept and parts dept.

228k on 2004. This past month I replaced the Valve cover gaskets, timing belt, water pump, other belts, intake gaskets and spark plugs.. This weekend I will change the Power steering pump. Should be good for another 100,000 miles..

Great little car...
