I know there have been many posts about broken mast antenna and I also know it's about a three minute repair. What I don't know is what exactly I'm looking at here. Could someone give me a few tips based on these images? I'm afraid I'm going to have to back this out somehow in order to thread on a new mast. Could someone also post a photo of the base with antenna unscrewed? That would help a lot to see what a non-broken one looks like for comparison. Thanks much!

Thanks for the reply. I got lucky. I attempted to drive a wood screw into the middle so I'd have something to hold on to. Believe it or not, just by lightly flicking at the broken piece with the screw, in a counter clockwise direction, it backed out. Loose enough to come right out. Now I need to decide if I'm even going to replace it. I listen to satellite exclusively. Thanks again!
