What year is your RX350? How many miles? Any airbags go off (I am guessing no, but just asking)?

Unless there is some major damage when they take things apart, that looks to be repairable.

 

I apologize for not including year. It's 2009, 155,500 miles

 

airbags did not deploy. I had enough distance to car in front of me that I didn't hit them.

 

2009 Lexus RX go for about $8,000-12,000. Assuming no structural damage or damage to the suspension, I would guess that your insurance company will likely quote the cost of repair rather than declaring a total loss. A body shop will likely repair it for a few thousand plus the cost of parts.

 

Based on other threads I have seen on this subject I would say $6k-7k to repair.

 

 

It's cost to value ratio that insurance looks at. Cars were totaled for less damage than that. Of course, it's repairable. What will insurance decide - only insurance knows. If they total it, take money, keep car, find a decent repair shop and get it fixed. Drive till wheels fall off. Rear end damages are not as serious as front. Unless it's hybrid.

 

My guy here would have fixed this for about $2500 can't tell it was hit.

 

If possible, bring it to a Lexus dealer-owned body repair shop. I've heard that some (most?) insurance companies will total a vehicle if the frame is damaged.

 

 

 

 

Please keep us updated, I just can't see it being totaled, especially since the vehicle looks to be (except for the recent damage) in really good shape.
