Default Need help with an RX purchase

I have to make my final decision on the purchase of an RX. I have two options, both with high miles, but one newer model and one older model. Looking for the best deal for the money but I’m torn on which to choose. What do you think?

99 RX300 - 146,500 Miles, $5K with tax/tags included, 5 owner car.

08 RX350 - 156,000 Miles, $8997 with tax/tags included, 2 owner local family car traded.

Opinions please would very helpful and greatly appreciated! 👍🏻

I agree with tomr51.

For its age, the 99 is a low mileage car, around 8000 a year average and would probably give you good service. But the 08 has the benefit of evolution, meaning nicer amenities.

Easy choice, 08 RX350. Newer car, about equal amount of miles. Better safety and more features.

Also $9000 for an 08 RX is a steal. $5000 for a 99 RX is overpriced.

I'm partial to 08 since it's what I own. Recent purchase... Sept. 2017. Mine is actually sitting @ 190k. Purchased from a one-owner and into the dealer every 5k. I love the ride, and the finish of interior. Like DennisMik pointed out.. nicer amentities. Also just plain newer. I think they made some improvements over the 1st generation. Whatever you decide be sure and let us know. And we LOVE pictures!

08 RX350 wins it for me too. I've seen recurring posts about the Gen 1 RX300's having transmission problems and usually needing a rebuild. Plus the 1999 to 2008 brings a lot of changes which you will appreciate.
