just put on Michelins on my wife's rx350 . both are v.good tires.i'd but whichever one you can get a better deal on but shopping for tires in a snowstorm is like buying a plane ticket a couple of days before you fly: you can get where you want to go but they hold all/most of the cards.

Both are good, regardless of the model. Based on my personal experience though, the Blizzak may be the "better" snow tire, but by a very small margin. As an all around tire, I'd prefer Michelins as they last longer and are much quieter. For me it would come down to price, but if they're the same, go Michelin.

I also have General Altimax Artics on one car, and the new general snow tire that just came out last year on another. While they are bargains and handle admirably in the snow, when the roads are clean and dry, there is no forgetting you are on a snow tire.

Thanks 02SDGS
I was comparing the Bridgestone Blizzak and the Michelin latitude X-ice. I agree from what I read they are both good
snow tires. And the Michelin seems to be quieter. I will continue to look for the best deal on the Michelin's.

When I lived in Colorado, I looked in depth into both of these tires. X-ice tires have a lower tread depth with a center groove and are firmer than the Bridgestones. They have lower rolling resistance, better fuel economy, perform better in dry conditions, and will last longer (40k warranty IIRC, which is very rare in a full winter tire). That is to say they can be driven on dry cold pavement and not wear as fast as the Bridgestones and perform predictably as a normal street tire would (not as squishy). The Bridgestone Blizzaks have deeper depth, better snow traction, yet feel squishy and won't last as long (no warranty for miles). Blizzaks are some of the best bad snow and road condition winter tire you can buy, period. They offer traction in almost any winter condition. So, if you drive up to the ski mountain every week with your kids, or expect a bad winter with heavy snow go with the Blizzaks. If you don't drive in the worst winter weather often and want a snow tire that will last a few seasons go with the X ice.
