Default Wind noises inside and out

I've had two different wind noises start happening on my 2009 - one is coming from the A/C fan - while blowing it sounds a bit like I imagine being in a breezy day in Antartica - just a soft constant blowing low pitched wooooosh tone - not quite a whistle. I've tried running it at top speed to blow out anything stuck in there, but no help.

The second one is at freeway speeds - this is a mid-pitched whistle. Not as soft and clearly a whistle. I've read taking the roof rack crossbars might help - any other ideas? It wasn't always there and both of these just started happening recently.

On the freeway speed noise, check that the sunroof is perfectly flush with the metal part of the roof. I have hit the buttons when I didn't mean to and had wind noise.

I don't know about the a/c fan. If something was in the fan, I would think the noise would be different from a wind sound, more like a buzzing. Have you checked the air filter? Take it out and run the fan without it.

Thanks - I'll see about the air filter - I've never replaced it but I think the shop has. It looks complicated. :-/

I was referring to the cabin air filter that is located behind the glove box. It isn't that complicated or difficult to do.

OK I understand - it needed replacing but doesn't seem to have made much difference unfortunately - I tried blowing it hard with the filter out and switching modes, but no joy...
