Default How to remove door panel to replace mirror

I have searched a lot (and have the mirror R&R pdf that was posted here awhile ago) for removing the RX330 door panel.

I am getting ready to replace the driver's side mirror on our '04 RX330. I am looking to pull the door panel just far enough away to reach my hand in to unplug the existing connector and plug in the new mirror. I don't wish to remove any more of the panel or clips than I have to get access to the plug for the mirror.

I know I need to remove the push-pin (up near the mirror), the screw behind the door handle and under the felt. I was then going to grab the lower part of the door panel (closest to the emergency brake) and pull just enough where I can reach my hand in for the power mirror connector.

My question: I have seen where people are popping out the window/door lock panel and wanted to see if that was necessary? In the R&R, there was no mention of this and I don't want to break anything.

Would appreciate any help and thanks in advance.

I had to pop the whole drivers panel out to wire the unlock/lock pulse signal for my remote start. It's been a few months so I may be crusty but you need to remove the door handle screw, door handle trim around the handle, master window switch, screw where the change cup is (under that black piece of carpet), bottom puddle light, and the rest is clips. The panel needs to go up and out of the window well in order for it to come out completely.

Thanks for the reply ... I contacted a body shop and they did it in 10 mins for a case of beer.
