168/194 Bulb and the burnt out bulb indicator
Thanks for all the tips on how to access and change bulbs on the 2nd gen RX. Last weekend I was able to install 194 LED bulbs for the license plate lights and the tail lights (ones on the lift gate) since the bulbs were burnt out. I installed 194 LEDs from Sylanvia but the burnt out bulb indicator is still on. I suspect that it is because I am using LED for the tail lights instead of incandescent. Can anyone confirm my hypothesis?
If my hypothesis is correct I am thinking of getting incandescent 168 bulbs for the tail light and possibly moving the 194 LEDs from the tail light to the drive lights (the little bulb above the high beams). Can anyone confirm that if I do install LEDs for the drive light, it won't keep the burnt out bulb indicator on? I couldn't find anyone mentioning this on the forum and I would like to avoid the trouble of changing out the light only to have the indicator still on.
Oh, side question. Any good recommendations where I can get the trim panel clips? I broke one taking off the trim to get access to the license plate lights.
Thank you

I have 194/168/5W5 LED installed on above high beam bulb w/o problem, that 5W5 bulb burnt out doesn't trigger bulb error light so I think it should works with no canbus error free LED, the one I installed seller says it is canbus error free but I hihgly doubt it is.

Thanks for the info and the photos. I will re-purpose my 194 LED to the parking lights then. Do you happen to remember if I have to turn the connector counter-clockwise to remove the bulbs.? Was trying to get access to the bulb last night but couldn't get enough torque on the connector. I might have been turning in the wrong direction.
Anyone can confirm that my burnt out bulb indicator is due to installed LED rather than incandescent bulbs?

Both front sockets of 5W5 bulbs are counter-clockwise for release and the bulb itself just pull out from socket.
Bulb indicator means two things: a burnt out bulb or a not canbus error free LED bulb installed.
You need to know which bulb burnt out first and then you must have a canbus error free LED installed as a replacement.

I had a similar issue. I had the light come on in the dash when the headlights came on. I had the passenger's side right tail light (on the lift gate) and driver's side license plate light go out. I replaced both tail lights and both backup lights while I was at it. Didn't touch the license plate light. Didn't help, so I figured I had a short. Ugh. My wife (who was behind the car checking the lights) gave the lift gate a solid Fonzie style whack, the lights popped on, and the warning light on the dash went out. Problem solved. One week later, so far so good
