Default Alignment change after rotor/pad replacement

Hello All,
I recently changed the front rotors/pads on our '08 RX350. After 3 weeks of being driven by another family member, I finally got in the car last night, and noticed that the steering wheel alignment was off by ~15 degrees.

Could this have been caused by my brake job? Or someone went over a large pothole? I never lost alignment on this car in the past, despite road conditions.

Thanks much for your input.

Brake job won't affect steering wheel alignment unless one of the brakes is dragging so much you have to counter steer to overcome the pull.

I would inspect both front wheels and tires to look for signs of impact. To give your family member benefit of the doubt, maybe someone backed into a front wheel while it was parked and bent a tie rod. If it was winter I'd more likely think someone driving overcooked a slippery corner and bumped the curb with a front tire.

No no matter the cause, get it checked out to make sure nothing's come loose in the front end.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will book an appointment at Sears Auto Center to get the alignment checked and fixed, as suggested.

Thanks much again.

Only thing I can think of the caliper is dragging, I assume if you could change the brakes, you could check out the caliper. If not bring it in for an alignment
