Did you reseal your half moon pieces during valve cover gasket replacement?
So I noticed lexus suggested I change my half moon seals (reseal with FPIG toyota black gasket maker) when I do my valve cover gasket.
I have never done this in the past with any lexus I have owned.
Has anyone done this when they redid their valve cover gasket?
Question 2.
Did you replace or re-use your intake plenum gasket?
Lexus said they don't change that on a routine valve cover gasket replacement?

When I replaced my valve cover gaskets, I cleaned off the old RTV and used new RTV in the area of the half moons. I did not remove or replace anything else. No leaks.
I replaced the intake plenum gasket. The old one looked fine and probably good have been reused, but if I was to do it again I would replace it since I would not want to risk having all the rework if it leaked. The Lexus shop manual says use a new gasket.

What are half moon seals?
I just ordered replacement VC gaskets, and just saw your post on half moon seals, what are they? Do they need to be replaced?
Thank you.
Thank you.
