Adjusting my parking brake
Hi all.
I own an RX350 LE 2007
I've recently had my rear brakes renewed (Shoes and discs) and now my car is dragging awfully! It's already been back to the mechanics and it seems its a problem with a the parking brake. Apparently, it's extremely difficult to adjust the handbrake, is there any advice I can give the mechanic? He doesn't deal with that many Lexus!
Thanks, Anna
PS: Before anyone starts trolling me for not going somewhere else, I live in the middle of nowhere with not many choices for mechanics!

Before cars had disc brakes, they used what was called drum brakes. This is what Lexus uses for the parking brake.
Since the discs were replaced, the brake shoes for the parking brake may be expanded too much and causing a drag. There is an adjustment for that.
Here is a link to a thread where another person had a parking brake problem. It has discusses how to adjust the parking brake.

Here is a link to a youtube video on how to service the parking brake.

2007 rx350 foot brake adjustment
Hello,
2007 LEXUS RX350
Adjusting the foot brake.
is this a simple thing to do? Searching online is giving me a migraine with so many different wording and different procedures.
my hubby is pretty hands on with cars, works on cars all the time but most of the cars have an old school hand brake and easy to adjust.
my dad has asked him to adjust his handbrake as there is movement when in P and park brake applied when on a hill ( but he doesn't have a physical hand brake, so i assume he means foot brake)
apparently the foot brake is located at the rear, and there is a screw it tighten, once tighten it closes the brakes abit more? is this correct?
do we actually need to remove the rear wheels and go in to the brakes to adjust this? so confusing
appreciate any simple / direct advise. / help
