Default Bad gas cap?

Is it possible for a bad gas cap to throw a code of 2195? How can I tell if the cap is bad? In some cars you could hear the seal being broken when opening the cap but I have never heard the seal on my 2007. Visually the cap seems fine.

Thanks

I don't know what a code 2195 is but I did have an issue that resulting in the check engine light coming on. Back and forth with the stealership who would reset the code and tell me there's nothing wrong.....would last till the next tank of gas and happen again. These idiots even told me to shut off the engine when refueling, this is after I had the car for 3 years and not had the problem. Long story short I found there was a recall on the fuel pipe, replaced it and no more issues.

What makes you think it is the gas cap? Code 2195 possible causes are:

- Faulty Oxygen Air/Fuel Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1
- Oxygen Air/Fuel Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 harness is open or shorted
- Oxygen Air/Fuel Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty EFI Relay
- Faulty Injector
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
