Default Back pain

Hello All,
Although the reliability on my RX 350 is quite good, I cannot stop thinking about the constant back pain I receive from any drive over 50 min. long. Today, I just couldn't bear it; almost started crying today, and had to stop on the road. I didn't get this on Mercedes or Saab models I previously had.

Over several years of owning this car, I've tried the lumbar supports, numerous seat adjustments, but to no avail.

Anyone else have comfort issues w/ this car's seats? Thanks much for the feedback.

No problem with ours and we take 8 hour road trips annually. I did have a Forester a long time ago that gave me back pain, but two subsequent Subarus did not. Car seats try to be one size fits all but unfortunately there are always a few of us that aren't compatible with some of them.

German cars typically have stiffer seats which is better for your back than softer seats in Japanese cars. Where is your back pain located? Lower, upper back, middle, right, or left side?

Thanks for the feedback. The pain is mostly lower (even with lumbar support) and upper back (near the shoulder blades). I've made the horizontal part of the seat even more parallel to the ground, whereas before it was tilted slightly upwards? Hopefully that helps a bit.

Also, stopped by a Volvo dealer today. Wow, I have to say those cars' seats are amazingly soothing.

You should try a twisted copper bracelet. It's marketed to help with arthritis and joint pain but I found it helps to loosen tight and stiff muscles in my leg and back. The secret is to wear it 24/7 to have the best effect. You can find it on amazon. Cheaper than switching cars.

I have lower lumbar disk issues (L3-4, L4-5 and L5-S1) and find I can drive the RX all day with no back issues. I'm 5'6" tall and weigh about 155 pounds. I've driven or rode in several other SUV's and sedans over the past decade with considerable discomfort but find I fit in the RX perfectly.

Might be time to see your doctor and have a MRI done if you have not already. Naproxen works pretty well for me as do occasional cortisone shots when/if I abuse my back. I've also found a group of back strengthening exercises that reduced the stress on my spine.

Back pain can be a real PITA.

I will try to check out that Amazon product; thanks much for sharing! Yes, although European cars had comfortable seats, I remember how much maintenance was required.

I did visit my Dr. about this, and he suggested some heating/cooling pads. I have a very similar body profile as you, so maybe it's just me and bad posture.

Thanks much.
