Default RX330 Tailgate issues 2004

We own a 2004 rx330 and a odd thing occurs on warm days. That power liftgate will not open or close with the power buttons. It will open about 2 inches and close. When completely open, the power button will not close it. Any ideas out there...Works fine on mild weather days.

Sounds like it is time for new struts for the hatch. I installed Strong Arm 6127 (vice the OEM parts) and they were easy to install. I don't think the hatch opens as smoothly as the OEM struts (there is a slight bounce as it reaches the top), but the OEM's were around $250 for the pair vs about $50 for the Strong Arm's, so I deal with it.

It is time for a new rear door actuator.

I had the same identical issue with my outside mirrors, on warm days both outside mirrors would barely move when in reverse. I went to my Lexus dealer and both mirrors actuators were replaced under extended warranty, problem solved.

Hmm, I stand corrected. When our hatch was acting like that (similar issue in that it would only partially open), I replaced the struts and problem went away.
