Default 2008 Buying Considerations

I am shopping for a 2007-09 RX350--also considering the ML350. I've searched and read every thread relating to buying advice for the RX350, and noticed 3 major items of concern:

1. Steering Rack
2. Oil cooler lines
3. Headlight condensation

Am I missing anything?

How serious is the steering rack problem? I understand that all 2nd gens will eventually leak if the steering rack has not been replaced. For the right price, I can live with a small leak for a while or pay for the repair. Will this progress to a catastrophic failure?

The oil lines appear pretty easy to verify and correct, if necessary.

Any other reliability concerns beyond 100k miles?

I too was looking at some second gen RX's, every single one of them had the steering leaking, so you're almost guaranteed it. Just peep under the passenger side wheel at the inner tie rod boot and see if its weeping. Its quite labour intensive to replace:

Water pump failure on the 2007+ was also an issue. The 2GR's tight engine bay almost requires engine removal to access it.
