Trailer Hitches - Is there a nicer looking one for 2007 RX350? Factory one is Ugly
Hi ... I searched the forums to see if there was another option for a 2007 RX350 and I saw that the Toyota Highlander hitches can fit but they appear ugly too. ... It appears that in 2010? they changed the design where it does not loop around the muffler.
Pics for the current ones I found ... (Curt and Hidden Hitch) appear the same.
Can anyone post an exact model number of one that is available that is more aesthetically pleasing. Pics would be awesome!

The hitch you are showing in your post is an aftermarket unit. The Toyota/Lexus hitch does not wrap under the muffler, it wraps over the muffler behind the rear bumper. It is really nice, personally I like it, but it costs more. Not to mention it is a bit lighter that the aftermarket one.

Thanks for the replies ... Do you have the part number for the one that goes behind the muffler? I did a search on PT228-48045 and found these pics. This one does look better but I would like to it go behind the muffler than in front.

Trailer hitch lexus PT228-48045 = toyota PT228-69045 (Highlander 2004-2007) ... I was able to find the Toyota one for less $300 with shipping ... I am willing to pay the extra to get a OEM that looks better.

I did a big write up with all of the part numbers and installation instructions on another forum several years ago. Unfortunately, the forum did not archive them so the information is gone.
Here are photos of the stock Lexus hitch.

Much easier than I thought
I ordered the factory one for toyota PT228-69045 (Highlander 2004-2007) for $275 directly from Toyota dealer.
This install was much easier than I thought and took about 45 mins for hitch and 45 mins for electrical. It included the instructions and I also used this link (See below) for other notes.
Thoughts: I would highly recommend paying the extra money and installing the factor one. It looks much better and it has all the wiring included. Just run the wiring per the instructions and plug it in and you are good ...
