From my understanding, the dynamic laser cruise automatically reduces your speed if your following distance drops below a certain point from the car ahead of you. You can test drive a LS with this option to see if you would really want it on your RX. It's a neat option, but probably not a must-have for most folks.

Regarding the Performance Package, it's a tough call. This package includes a lot of options included on other packages (leather, 18" tires, etc.), and it has the neat adjustable suspension and Adaptive Front Lighting.
