Recently purchased a used '09 RX 350 with 48,000 miles that has a set of the Bridgestone Alenzas. They don't have a lot of tread left so my impressions my be unfairly biased, but they are very hard and loud. Steering is doughy. Looking for new tires, but not sure yet on best choice. Looking for very quiet, comfortable ride with good handling; tread life is of secondary importance.

New tires:
I just put on brand new Alenza Pluses and they have been very quiet and handle very well plus a 80,000 mile warranty. We'll see how that goes. Night and day difference compared to the Michelins that they replaced. My Michelins were hard ride and noisy and slid on corners, could not take corners at posted speed limit without squeezing and sliding out of control. My new Alenza Pluses corners at twice the speed if needed without noise and grips very well and predictable.

I just replaced Bridgestone 400HL RFT's with some Cooper CS3's and the difference is amazing.
'08 with 108,xxx miles and I love my RX again.
Initial impression ... The Cooper CS3's are awesome for the price. Smooth and quiet.
I am in south GA so I cannot speak for winter performance. And coming from a run-flat tire my opinions may be a little skewed.
I really wanted the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza... I have them on my Tundra and love them. But I couldn't justify the $260 price difference. For $116 per the Coopers are worth a look.

General food for thought when people post opinions about tires ....... information that is important to proper tire wear and noise include such items as tire rotation frequency, tire inflation, vehicle alignment, vehicle suspension components, etc. just to name a few.
Ever notice how most negative tire reviewers do not include all of this information. Understandably they would not keep detailed records of all of the appropriate information and then post it, but I would simply question if they properly cared for the tires. If tires are not properly cared for, they will prematurely wear and may get noisy.
When people post extremely negative reviews, you may just want to take it with a grain of salt.

I really like the Michelin LTX M/S on my prev 2000 RX300, it lasted me whopping 90k mi and great ride.
It didnt come in 235/55/18 before. I just found out that the new Defender LTX M/S does come in 235/55/18.

From the description, it looks like a new set replacing LTX M/S 2. Any words on it?

We have about 20K miles on a set of Continental SUV tires I purchased from Tire Rack. They still look brand new and ride smooth and quiet. A nice, cheaper alternative to those Michelins! I think they were rated at either 60K or 80K miles also!
