Its basically freebie traffic stop. No need to wait for a traffic infraction. As much as I would like the extra tint, I don't want to give the local cops a free traffic stop.

 

I have always have the front windows tinted, albeit not really dark (including the wife's car) and so far have never been stopped (knock on wood). In my opinion it is the type of cars and driving behavior that will attracts LE, at least where I live (in the SF bay area).

I believe 75% UV is still legal in Cali, I did 50% on my front, 15% at the back and hatch, 5% sun strip and sunroof.
