Cool Pismo Dunes in California were a blast!!!

Hello All,

I'm back! It's been insanely busy, but I just recently had a chance to go down to San Luis Obispo for work. My meeting got out early and my first stop was Grover Beach and the Pismo Dunes. Grover Beach, to the best of my knowledge, is the ONLY beach in California that you can drive on. Although the speed limit is 15mph, it is still pretty fun. I then went over to the Pismo Dunes and drove around. This is way cool and you have to have some pretty thick tread. I didn't have the guts to go all the way in, but bounced around some of the smaller dunes. If anyone is ever down there on vacation, I highly recommend visiting Grover Beach and the Pismo Dunes.

Attached a pic of the RX on the beach after the fun.

I have taken my Toyota Tundra on the Pismo Dunes and had a ball. I never considered doing that with my RX. I assume that your RX is AWD?

So... funny you should ask. There was a spot where it felt like I caught some air and then when I came down, there was a decent sized rock about 10 feet away. That would have sucked REALLY bad to have landed on that . Would have killed the car. But spent about 30 minutes bouncing around on the dunes. Was a fun experience.

Definitely suggest a good car wash after though, especially the under-carriage.

Yep, my 350 is AWD. Seemed to handle the sand really well.
