Just wanted to let everyone know that even though it's not approved on the website the isimple works with the RX 400h 2006. I guess they weren't able to test it but i tested both the gateway and the connect and they both worked great. I ended up going with connect as it has Bluetooth audio so no need to plug in unless you want to charge.

The install was also pretty easy.

The switch positions where the same as the RX 400h 07. install is also the same.

Actually, that is meant for "hybrid drivetrain and other features/options found only on the RX400H".
I don't think there's anything specific to the 400h in the onboard audio system.
