2004 RX330 driver side door lock doesn't function with remote, only manually
Recently my driver side door was hit by another car door and it was sent to the body shop for repair. After several weeks it was returned and shortly thereafter the driver door wouldn't open with the remote. The remote will lock and unlock all other doors. The driver door will only open manually by inserting the key.
Car goes back to body shop - they confirm it's the door lock actuator and won't fix it
So question what do I buy: the door lock actuator? The door lock intermotor?
The parts I am considering are available from the www.rockauto.com site:
DORMAN Part # 931400 **#6904002120, 69040AA050} Front Left; w/Integrated Latch
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # DLA345 Intermotor
Can anyone please clarify for me?

Welcome, check this thread out, it's for first gen RX's but might be helpful:

might be the motor or the cable could have come off of the holder when it was put back together. If it operated fine before the accident it should be fixed properly by the repair shop.
If it is indeed the actuator, make sure it's for the correct door.

did you file a claim through the insurance or did you pay cash? The body shop should
fix the lock since the door was damage right? You can file a complaint with the BBB and
notify the shop about their practice(s), that is if you went through your insurance.

Thank you for the information! Ordered the part and will give it a try. Looks very similar to what my bf did to my 91 BMW 381i door actuator so should be a piece of cake! Well in theory at least!
In hindsight I wish I asked them to leave the panel loose as it was dislodged when I took it back for the door lock situation.
As for the payment, it went through the ladie's insurance company and the guy at the body shop is an associate of my brother's so I thought he would just fix it but he said it wasn't their fault - which I do question. Kind of a sticky situation. I just won't use them ever again....period.
