Default clunk noise from my 2004 rx330

i have a 2004 4wd rx330 with 130000 kms, when the speed approaches around 40 to 60 km/h and i go to accelarate and deaccelarate i can hear a clunk in the center console, and even when I slow the car down i can hear the clunk as well, but its ok when the car is in the low speed and high speed, does anybody know whats causing this and should I worry about it? and does anybody have same problem as well? thanks heaps

Sounds like a bad engine mount.
Open the hood, start the engine, making sure the car is in "Park", have someone rev up the engine a few times and look for an excessive engine rocking back and forth.
This may also be your front strut(s), but if the clunk is originating from the center of the console, it is likely the engine mount.

Welcome to Club Lexus, webfroot. We have plenty of Lexus owners here from AUS, though not sure how many from NZ.

Am wondering if this has anything to do with the oil cooler line/assembly problem that some have experienced over the years? I had the OIL COOLER HOSE replaced on my 2004 due to a similar noise, however, no way of knowing if it is one in the same.

Try reading the following to see if it follows with what you are experiencing. You can take the TSB information with you to the shop to see what they can do for you. Being out of warranty, it is anyone's guess.
