Default Recommendations on brake rotors and pads please

My wife's 07 RX350 with just over 100,000kms now needs a brake job. What recommendations do you forum members have for both the rotors and pads to keep the vehicle performing as well as stock if not better while still being quiet?

Welcome to Club Lexus.

Like many topics, this one has been discussed at length on many occasions. Please take the time to use the search features of the forum here to have a look around. Not only should you find suggestions for pads and rotors others have used, there should also be several informative posts with video links, PDFs and pictures showing the process on each end.

As an example, here is one company mentioned on several occasions and they are even located in Canada:

Not a recommendation, just commentary. Search the forums for more details.

BTW, do you think you really need to replace the rotors? I have nearly 90K on my RX330 and have only needed to turn the front rotors once. Did not need to touch the rear rotors. Just pads otherwise. Unless they are severely warped and very noticeable when braking you make get away with a light turning at a local shop.

(Note: Not seeing an RX350 rotor in their inventory, however, would give them a call if you still go down that route.)

Hello,
I will recommend KVR brakes. I have the black coated cross drilled rotors on all four corners. KVR now offers ceramic pads, wish I had them versus the carbon fibre. The brakes are great plus great support. I would send Edwin an email and discuss your options.
KVR is a Canadian company based in Ottawa
Best of luck,
Chris

Go to the Lexus dealer and have them replace brake pads, rotors, etc., to enjoy like "factory" quality. It cost me $630.00 to lightly face the rotor surface and new pads on my 2007 RX350 with 82,000 miles on it at the time. The 1999 300RX I had didn't need a brake job until it had 103,000 miles on it. They just don't build them as well as they used to...............hehheh

The $630 charge is probably why the OP is looking to do this by them self.

Wow that is a lot of $$ for a re-surface and new pads!

I just bought Centric Rotors and Pads.. I bought about $160 for everything and will do the install myself. I have Centric products on my 2006 GS430 and had no issues.
