Need help with crankshaft pulley recall........
On 11/20/11, Toyota announced a recall of Lexus RX330 to replace a crankshaft pulley that may become dislodged. According to Toyota, "the outer ring of the crankshaft pulley could become misaligned, and if left uncorrected, the power steering pump could become detached from the pulley". During the recall appointment, the Lexus dealer told me I need to replace the power steering rack, to the tune of $1626. Can the recall scenario cause a situation that requires the replacement of the power steering rack?
