Newbie with '05 RX330 with SRS light.
I finally traded in my 300CE Mercedes for the Lexus RX330 yesterday. I noticed on the way home the SRS light on. Am I in for an expensive fix or what??

Welcome to Club Lexus.
You will want to take a moment to register your vehicle on the Lexus Owner's web site:
https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lex...-lexus/home.do
Regarding the SRS light... if that specific light is on, as mentioned in the manual, it is best to take it to the dealership for a look. Means a possible malfunction in the airbag system. Does not mean an expensive fix. Depending on the problem, as this is a safety item, it may be covered by a longer warranty than the vehicle itself. Not something I suggest mucking around with as your actions may cause an airbag to deploy and at your cost.

If it happened on the ride back from where you bought it, then I'd take it right back. LOL
I'd have the dealership you bought it from, take care of it. Did they give you a 30 day warranty? < I know not likely, but thought I'd ask...

This is the light I thought the OP was referring to after referring to my manual:
Need more information as to which indicator light has come on for the OP.
Turns out the warranty for the airbags is likely the same as the powertrain: 72 months or 70K miles. Hopefully, it is throwing an error code which can be read by a scanner.

Hmmm, if a wheel had damage that may have popped a bag and they didn't replace it, just put the cover back together. That would certainly cause a light. Did you get it from a Lexus dealer or what?

Looks like you need to get this to their shop tomorrow morning, ASAP. You do not want to start off your ownership on the wrong foot.

I had the unfortunate experience one time of buying a Nissan 300zx with the airbag light on. I was young and dumb and believed the seller without having a good mechanic diagnose the issue. $1,300 later I had a new airbag and sensors hoping that I would never have to find out they worked..

After explaing to the dealership the option of returning the car they told me to bring it in this morning. They ran a diagnostic on it and said it's a module problem. They gave me a loaner and told me to come back tomorrow and the car will be ready. Hopefully this problem is solved.

If they were not as receptive, you can take it up with the Manager or else go straight to Lexus. See what happens. Part of the Lexus ownership is the expectation that you will be treated fairly. It also comes with the expectation from you that you will give them the opportunity to correct the "situation."
