mirror paint flaking off please help

Actually I had this issue on my 2000 ES300, it was gold. Well cared for, the paint was fine everywhere except the mirror housings. On mine it was mainly the mounts more so than the mirrors themselves.

same thing happened to our Millennium Silver - looks like the clear coat just flaked off....

Hi, I called a Mobile painter, and he sanded them down and applied the 3 step 6T1 Lexus paint.
They look like New, that was 3 years ago and I don't remember the cost to get it repainted.
