What is this hidden switch
On the drivers side, to the right of the knee airbag, is a little square plastic cap that when removed, reveals a toggle switch.
Does anyone know what this switch for and what is the proper position to leave it in?

I've been through the owner's manual cover to cover and nothing is there about it.
My best guess is maybe has something to do with programming the chips in the keys.

It could be one of those aftermarket ejector seat thingies. That was one of those options that sounded good in theory but in actual practice turned out to be less than practical. Try to get one of the neighbors to sit in the seat and casually ask him to flip the switch. Be sure to stand more than three feet away when he flips it.
Infinirx's idea about releasing the oil slick may have merit but that is usually found on milspec RX in combination with the forward .30 cal gun mounts and surely you would have noticed machine guns mounted on it by now.

But it looks more like a cabin sensor than anything from the photos. I mean it has the vents.

As already stated. Not a switch. Sensor for the automatic climate control. I hope you didn't poke around in there, as it's also a humidity sensor and is probably somewhat pricey if you poke a hole in it.

Yea, how interesting. I moved it from side to side a bit and it sure acted like a toggle switch. It does appear to still be working so maybe I got lucky.
