So the stock stereo, came with an Ipod cable and its hooked up to the rear of the unit I believe, not sure if its the ipod or the cable that is not working. But when we first got the car it would work, lately its been tempermental, and this week its just crapped out. Is there any easy way to take out the stock face plate and check the cable in the back???
the ipod cable does not work with the iphone 4, and I do not have any other ipods' I do have an old Iphone 3g that I plan on trying to see if that works. Just want to know what Im getting myself into before taking it apart.
thanks carver, perfect, doesnt look like i need any special tools, and the plastic removal tool could be a butter knife taped up.
if we took out her radio, how would she need to get her radio code back, or is it on the back of the unit??? she bought the car used, so we obviously dont have the radio code in the manual, since it didnt come with it (we ordered one from the lexus drivers)

I have a 2008 RX350 and it did not ask for any codes. Be very careful when you pull the stereo out, it has a lot of sharp edges in the back and can easily damage the console around the gear shifter. Cover the console with a towel or something like that. Also, try not to drop those 10mm bolts inside the console, because you'll never find them. I used a magnet attached to the 10mm socket to keep them in place.
