spacecraft; can you switch the video from ML DVD changer to the rear screen on your '08 400h? thanks

 

I've only got ML and DVD changer, but no rear screen, so can't tell for sure.
I was just saying that there's no logical/safety reason why that shouldn't be feasible, but if the OP says he can't, obviously the system wasn't designed to work that way...

 

well, in my case looks like rear screen responding to switch commands via touchscreen, but there is no actual video playback just the sound

 

Re-read my post schlaff. I get that you can watch DVDs on the front screen when the E brake is on. But the OP wants to know if you can play DVD video with the stereo....I am saying that the stereo head unit probably does not play DVD video only DVD audio. There is a difference. Acuras for instance play DVD audio which is basically a CD that has audio in 5.1 surround instead of just stereo. DVD audio discs never became popular and were quite expensive.

 

My VD/MP3/WMA 6 disc changer head unit aka ML plays DVD with no issues, my problem is I cannot switch the video playback to the rear entertainment system. It dose work fine from the rear DVD player to front screen ....

 

Yeah, sorry, thought they were having trouble with no video on the front screen. It seems kind of dumb for the rear screen to not play DVDs from the ML changer.
