My rx350 alarm went off today in a parking garage at work and continued until the battery was dead. I had to get a jump start to get home. Aren't these alarms supposed to shut off after a certain period to PREVENT the battery from going dead? The service department at the dealership didn't seem to know.

Don't know what set it off. Only way I knew it was the alarm is b/c someone left a note on my windshield saying it was blaring continuously.

Maybe sunroof or windows were opened? If so, alarm is triggered each time when motion sensor "feels" something (like wind).

I would think it would shut off, it doesnt make sense to keep on going until the battery is dead?
