Default Lexus Dealer or Body Shop to Fix Minor Body Damage?

Hi, I have a 2004 RX330 and someone scraped my side moldings. Can the Lexus dealer just replace those two moldings pieces? Or do I need to bring it to the body shop? Money's not an issue.

Thanks.

I read the other day they are replaceable from the dealer. Apparently, they are stuck on with double sided tape! Maybe someone can confirm, I'd like some new ones as well.

Yes , you can. Hopefully the link below will work so you can see it. The one shown is for a 2004 330 made in North America. If yours was made in Japan, it may or may not have different part numbers

Looks like aprox $100 a piece. Yeah not great but it's better than paying any dealer or body shop a rip off amount. I tell you if you show up asking for "body work" they will think "sucker" and will charge you more. I mean technically I dunno if it's even body work. Just molding replacement?

I smile every day, love those things!

I guess everything is relative, I didn't bat an eye at the cost of those but 400 bucks for side moldings makes me unhappy.

Since money is not an issue, I would take it to a shop. Money is a big issue for me so I would do it myself. Tape around the molding, sand it, prep it, get color matching spray paint and call it a day. $30 tops.

a reputable body shop in your area can make that look like new.

Yes they are. I've had two sides peeling off already on my dad's RX. Each time, pull back, use 3M tape.
